Who knew art could get you killed?

Zoe Dill is almost done with her master’s in art history and her biggest problem seems to be what to do about her alluring, yet mysterious boyfriend Nick. But when her employers suffer a bizarre break-in at their art and antiques shop where nothing is taken, Zoe’s investigation uncovers a high-stakes game of deceit involving stolen Native artifacts and a dead art collector.

How did a Tribe’s sacred objects come to be hawked like trinkets? What falling-out among thieves leads a self-assured, cocky insurance investigator into a no-exit endgame from which only Zoe can extricate him?

What starts out as a lark soon plunges Zoe into a world of fraudsters, forgeries, and high-end indigenous art collectors. Her search for integrity amidst multiple duplicities, and for resolution to a multi-layered puzzle of conflicting aims and agendas, leads her to places she did not intend to go but also to people she is glad to have met. Everyone’s got an angle, and no one is who they claim to be. In her zest for adventure, has Zoe gotten herself in over her head?
