CHAPTER 1
"IN THE BEGINNING"
On the sixth day of God's creations, He created Man. Genesis 2:7. But there was not a helpmeet for him. And the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof, and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from Man, made He a Woman, and brought her to Adam. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall Man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:20---24
Adam was awe stricken at the beauty of Eve, a perfect specimen of woman!!! A perfect 10!!!
Woman was made from Man for Man. "They shall be one flesh" therefore joint heirs of the Kingdom of God. This took place in the Garden of Eden. For the man is not of the Woman; but the Woman of the Man. Neither was the Man created for the Woman; but the Woman for the Man. 1 Corinthians 11:8, 9.
Then God's first command to them was "be fruitful" (in serving Me), and second "multiply" and replenish the earth, (have children) and third, "subdue the earth having dominion over the fish of the seas, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth." Genesis 2:28.
NOTE: It was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Adam and Eve, not Bev and Eve, who are not capable to replenish the earth! He created hetro-sexuality, not homo-sexuality, which is an abomination to God!
1 Corinthians 6:18---20. God established marriage for "one man and one woman" with no other combinations!
"Marriage, God's Way" was the first institution that God established. It was not just a contract, but a "Pure Marriage Covenant," a trinity relationship between God, Man, and Woman. So God created Man in His own image, Male and Female. Genesis 1:27.
Covenant is an agreement between two or more people that involves promises on the part of each to the other. The concept of covenant between God and His people is one of the most important theological truths of the Bible. A covenant, in the Biblical sense, implies much more than a contract or simple agreement. A contract always has an end date, while a covenant is a permanent arrangement. Another difference is that a contract generally involves only one part of a person, such as a skill, while a covenant covers a person's total being. The striking thing about God's covenant with His people is that God is holy, all-knowing, and all powerful, but He consents to enter into covenant with Man, who is weak, sinful, and imperfect. By contrast, God does not break promises. His oath is an everlasting covenant. A "Covenant" is an unbreakable, unlimited, commitment, promise, "till death do we part!"
Husbands, love your wife as yourself, as Christ loves the church, and gave Himself for it. So men ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church. Ephesians 5:25, 28, 29.
The husband's desire should be to build up his wife until she becomes all God intended her to be! When she has an intimate relationship with God, listening intently to His voice and obeying His every command is important above all else, and is the greatest gift a wife can give her husband and the most valuable contribution she can make to her marriage. If women would only understand this principle, what wives they would be! They would then be free to be that "helper" that God intended them to be.
Of course, the ideal is for both husbands and wives to have that kind of relationship with the Lord. This kind of marriage can not fail. These families will not fall apart! That kind of relationship is as near to heaven on earth as is possible to experience.
The closer a man walks with God, the more mature and secure he becomes, the more whole he is, the less he seems to need or desire to rule his wife incorrectly. The spiritually mature husbands openly honor and cherish their wives and release them completely from any sense of bondage to them.
God said to Eve, "your husband shall desire you." Genesis 3:16, Song of Solomon 7:10. The dictionary describes "desire" as sexual appetite or thing desired." Do not withhold sex from your mate, except by mutual consent of each for a designated time, for fasting and praying." 1 Corinthians 7:2---5. As Man and Woman engage in sex, they become one flesh. Let thy fountain be blessed; and rejoice with the wife of your youth. Let her be as the loving hind (located at or forming the back or rear; posterior; legs) and pleasant roe (deer) let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be ravished (ecstasy; rapture; entrancement) always with her love. Proverbs 5:18, 19.
The family is the oldest institution in the world, older than the church, older than the state, and in many ways, more important than both the church and the state, because church and state are made up of families. If the home is not right, neither will the church and the state be right.
It is very important then, that the home be right. As goes the home, so goes the church; and as goes the church, so goes the nation. As we all know, our nation America is in trouble!
Marriage is about love, consideration, generosity, affection, pride, relaxation, cheerfulness, hope, excitement and faithfulness. For every king, there is a queen. God made it that way. The highest and holiest of all relationships is the beautiful bond of matrimony. What a shame that so many have ignored God's Word and thus neglected the source Book, the Bible, for true wisdom and happiness in marriage.
There are five words that will guarantee success in marriage. "Devotions," and Bible study. "Forgiveness, unselfishness, affection, appreciation," all described in God's Word.
Marriage is a drama. God is the producer, the earth is the stage, the Holy Spirit is the director and the Bible is the script. You have no choice in the role you play. When you were born, God assigned you a body. If He assigned you a male body, the role you play is Christ. If He assigned you a female body, the role you play in the drama is the church. You don't have to worry or wonder about how you are to act or play it out, because the script is given. You can't change your role. That role is assigned. The moment you say, "I do" and the minister pronounces you husband and wife, the curtain is lifted and the drama begins. You can't stop it! If we could get every Man and Woman in the world to take the Bible as it is and say, "I will read the lines that have to do with me, and I will play my part," we could solve all the marital problems in the world! But the problem is, we are reading the other person's script and saying "they are not playing their role." We are experts at identifying our partner's problem. If we would let the director, the Holy Spirit direct us, as to our correct part, (and He will help us) we could easily solve any problem in our lives,...
