Manual of Exercise Testing

This is a "how to do and interpret" basic reference on the clinical exercise test. Exercise testing is a powerful diagnostic and prognostic tool for CADS. It is being performed more by primary care physicians now than by cardiologists and it is often used to decide who needs to be referred to the cardiologist. As this technique moves into the field of general practice optimal patient care requires that the primary care physician performs the test properly. This manual explains how to use and interpret the exercise in practical terms. It is divided into eight chapters, covering methodology, haemodynamic and ECG interpretation, and diagnostic, prognostic and post-MI (myocardial infarction) testing. A final chapter addresses the miscellaneous applications of exercise testing, such as evalutation of patients for surgery.
