Manners (First Peek-a-flap)

When you’re sitting at the table and there’s something that you want, like a napkin or more jam or one more croissant, remember to say PLEASE and THANK YOU.

Learning to be polite and use good manners is an important part of growing up. Your little one will love seeing how sweet animal characters use good manners in different scenarios, from basics like saying “I’m sorry” and “excuse me,” to sharing with friends, and using good listening ears when someone else is talking.

Peek-a-boo holes and big flaps are just right for little hands. The charming art and rhymes will help make learning good manners anywhere easy for kids and parents alike. Explore more peek a flap and lift the flap board books for babies and toddlers from Cottage Door Press.

Cottage Door Press is an independent publisher of high-quality children's books. We believe that every child deserves an excellent first book experience--beginning on the day they're born.

Reading is learning is our driving philosophy, and we strive to help parents understand why reading aloud from birth is so important. We offer a simple development-based guide to help them on their journey.

Robin Rose is a pen name for the creative team at Cottage Door Press. We use a name like this when we work together on a story. We choose a name that stands for "red bird," which is our cheerful little mascot.

Born and based in Romania, Teodora studied Design at the University of Oradea and began her career as a graphic designer in 2012. A few years later, she got a job at a game studio. After creating lots of graphics for games, she went on to collaborate with a stock resource website and fell in love with children's illustration. Although she lives near Transylvania, her affinities are far from frightening. She loves creating cute and charming worlds, full of joyful characters that bring smiles to the faces of kids and adults alike. She works digitally, in Adobe Illustrator, but prefers creating the first sketches on paper as she enjoys the simplicity of it and the connection with the process. Her inspiration comes from vintage books, travels and walks around her hometown. When she's not drawing, you can find her visiting friends or watching the latest crime series on Netflix.

Cottage Door Press is an independent publisher of high-quality children's books. Our books are designed to spark curiosity in the littlest readers and fan the flames of lifelong learning. We understand children deserve our respect. That's why we always select artwork and stories that encourage caregivers to "read up" to their little ones--exploring interests together, learning together, and giving their young minds room to grow.

We also believe in creating stories that reflect the boundless possibilities of all children. We hope to create books that inspire little ones to connect, encourage them to dream, give them cause to celebrate, and allow them to see themselves beautifully reflected in the stories they read.

To bring these beautiful stories to life, our diverse and talented staff collaborates with authors and illustrators from all backgrounds and nationalities. We have also partnered with multicultural brands and literacy organizations to make sure our books reflect and reach as many little ones as possible.
