This is the true story about the kind of relationship that Terry Young had with her mother. When she was growing up, she called it a “one-sided” relationship: her mother’s side was the only side that matter. Mama believed that “children should be seen and not heard.” Terry was told to “stay in a child’s place,“ wherever that was. Perhaps you will see your own relationship to your mother as Terry did. She believed that her mama was "always right even when she was wrong." And yet it was her mother that helped her triumph from adversity and go on to live a happy, healthy life.

Terry says: "My mama may not have always been easy, but in the end, she raise me to be the woman that I am today: someone who wrote this book to re ect on this journey of how I transformed from a caterpillar into the beautiful butter y that I am today, despite the obstacles."

Cutee Clark lives in a beautiful suburb of Minneapolis and is employed as a full- time caregiver for a 96-year-old great- grandmother. She is still active in AA and Jehovah's Witnesses, and hosts small support groups in her basement. She plans to go back to school and has been taking driving lessons. This is her rst book.
