In Charles Noland's book, The Adventures of Drew and Ellie: The Magical Dress, children can join 7-year-old Drew and his 4-year-old sister Ellie as they embark on the greatest adventure of their lives. The first in a series of chapter books written for children ages 4 through 10, The Magical Dress is a suspenseful and heartwarming tale of two siblings who rely on each other to get themselves out of a difficult predicament. Throughout their adventure, Drew and Ellie present a positive image of sibling relationships. In an age of materialism, The Magical Dress also offers a refreshing spin on the concept of acquiring the latest fashions and trends. After all, it's an ordinary hand-me-down dress that turns out to be the most wonderful gift of all. This book series will teach children important life lessons about cooperation, creativity and caring for each other. It encourages children to develop their own problem-solving skills as they follow Drew and Ellie on each new adventure with the magical dress. The book is well-paced and easy to follow. In addition, the beautiful black and white illustrations capture the feelings and emotions of the characters as they experience their first adventure with the magical dress.
