This festival is so important that much can be said concerning it. In the first place, the Gospel Lesson itself is very comprehensive, and teaches valuable truths; then, again, it is necessary, on this occasion, to speak about the doctrine which this festival commemorates, and to treat of that chief article of our faith, according to which we Christians alone, among all other people on earth, believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
