Haec est unde vita venit! The hymns, poems, and prayers in this collection were written as part of a devotional practice centered on Antinous, the deified beloved of the Roman emperor Hadrian. They explore different aspects of Antinous’ nature, and record a journey toward understanding what spiritual devotion is – what it means to love a god and feel loved in return. “Poet. Wordsmith. Mythweaver. These are but a few of Merri-Todd’s appellations, titles she has earned in devotion to her gods. Love and adoration permeate every word of every hymn offered in this long-awaited collection. A hymn for every festival – a hymn for every day, for any and every occasion one might desire to sing praises for the Beautiful Boy, for beloved Antinous.” — Jay Logan, contributing author to Queer Magic: Power Beyond Boundaries
