Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
One of the things members of the Corrales Writing Group have learned is everyone has a story to tell. But to tell a story, one has to make time to write and seek the critiques of others. In the spring of 2012, like-minded writers inaugurated the Corrales Writing Group and hired a temporary instructor. The members were introduced to the basics: plot, setting, character development, and dialog. After a couple of months, the writers continued on their own and agreed to meet every two weeks. Writers in the group continue to submit work for peer review using a structured process that focuses on the positives and identifies areas for improvement. They meet every two weeks for critique sessions, give book readings, and sometimes dramatize their stories for audiences. Members also share their experiences with individuals at regularly scheduled meetings, with literary or civic organizations, and at conferences. With the intention of selling its work to the public, the group developed a business plan and became a Limited Liability Company (LLC). Since its creation, the Corrales Writing Group publishes anthologies and their Kindle (e-book) equivalents about every eighteen months, and their books have received numerous awards and outstanding reviews. The group sells its anthologies at various local venues as well as nationally through amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. The Corrales Writing Group has learned much. Probably the most important thing is to write. The group urges would-be writers to find like-minded people who are interested in becoming authors, for writing is not just a craft. It is a journey walked on a path paved with willingness to open oneself up to others.
