She spends much of her time wondering why she can't do anything right, and if life will ever get better. She feels like a failure and doesn't understand why life can be difficult for some people and so easy for others. As the school year progresses, Lizzy begins to figure out why Kaylee bullies her. In time, she finds that this situation has helped her to grow in her faith. Lizzy also learns patience from living with her unruly Great Dane puppy, Max. There's never a dull moment with him around! With the support of her parents, Lizzy learns the value of family and friends. When Lizzy stands up for a very unpopular idea, she finds the importance in being true to herself. As she battles to stand up for her beliefs, she learns another life lesson. Is she able to influence others or cave to the pressures to conform?
