The exercises were purposed to lead participants through a 'recall' of the rigorous Foundation Drawing and Design Courses offered by 'Modern' European Art Institutes prior to WWII. The exercises place emphasis on the discipline involved in 'Seeing' and 'Drawing'. Personal 'discipline' is stressed so as to allow the skills required in discovery to generate individualized, lyrically/creative, capacity.
