An introduction to field experiences for pre-service teachers, LENSES ON TEACHING, Fourth Edition is a combined workbook and text that student teachers can use to focus their observations in elementary and secondary classrooms. At the beginning of each chapter, the authors cover a broad spectrum of topics related to teaching. This expository coverage is followed by a series of related activities designed to sharpen students' observation and interviewing skills, encourage self-analysis, and foster continued growth. The book's expository coverage, observations, and structured interviewing tasks help make the book suitable for use as a field guide or supplement to an introductory or methods text. Additionally, its core activities, journal entries, and references for each chapter provide support for theory and direction for application.
