Legends of Colombia for Kids. Dieser Artikel ist nicht verfügbar.Legends of Colombia for Kids

Ten of Colombia's most beloved legends, told side by side in English and Spanish.

Long before treasure hunters came looking, El Dorado was never about gold to keep — it was about gratitude to give away. This book brings that story, and nine more, to life for gentle bedtime reading, ages 6–9.

Inside, your child will meet:

• Sua, and the real story behind the legend of El Dorado

• A young apprentice, and the golden raft made purely to be given away

• Bochica, the wise teacher who turned a flood into Tequendama Falls

• Camila, and the falls whose roar became a comfort instead of a fear

• Mateo, and La Madremonte's gentle lesson about the forest's limits

• Andrés, and the river spirit who rewards patience over greed

• Rosita, and the flower-covered dream that became the Feria de las Flores

• Fura, and the tears that became Colombia's famous emeralds

• Sué and Chía, the sun and moon who learned to share the sky

• Delfina, and the river mermaid's warning that saved her village

Every story appears in full on facing pages — English on one side, Spanish on the other — so the whole family can read together, whatever language feels most comfortable. Each chapter closes with a simple moral, and the back of the book includes a bilingual vocabulary section with exercises, so children build real reading confidence in both languages one story at a time.

Perfect for: Colombian families, bilingual classrooms, heritage-minded grandparents, and any child ages 6–9 who loves a good story — including young mythology fans drawn in by El Dorado's name.

Legends of Colombia is Book 3 in the Gentle Folklore Books: Legends of the World series.
