The former owner of this copy, Herbert Charles Moffitt [1867-1950], was a notable American clinician. His alma mater, University of California, named its Herbert C. Moffitt Hospital in his honor. In the upper left corner of the front pastedown, there is the bookseller's ticket of the Manhattan medical bookseller Paul B.
