Eyrian Dreal has a promise to keep.

Only a scattered few survived the technology-induced insanity that collapsed civilization in just three days. Eyrian is one of those few, but the pain and guilt of losing his beloved wife leads him to make a solemn vow. On the anniversary of their engagement—he will join her in death.

But fate has other plans.

Eyrian is captured by Trudi Goodman, a fiercely determined pregnant woman who will stop at nothing to protect her unborn babies—even if it means blackmailing him into helping with their birth. And if a high-risk delivery isn’t enough, a ruthless gang wants her—badly. To regain his freedom, Eyrian must somehow earn Trudi’s trust and keep her alive. But with Trudi’s due date rapidly approaching and the anniversary of his engagement drawing near, he faces an impossible choice—

Keep the promise to his dead wife, or risk it all for the woman who refuses to let him die.
