When Pastor Tom Dages faces his “day of evil” and fails to put on God’s armor, the results are spiritually, emotionally, and physically disastrous. He finds himself in an emotional prison of surging anxiety and concrete insomnia that seem inescapable. God uses this sudden spiritual assault of suffering to place Tom on a journey of inner healing and humility that radically transforms his life and ministry.During Tom’s healing journey he rediscovers the healing power of renewing his mind with God’s truth. As Tom seeks God through healing prayer and Redemptive Counseling, he discovers God’s Holy Spirit touching him in novel, deeply transformational ways. The Holy Spirit takes Tom back in the past and resurfaces debilitating traumas while planting redemptive truth in Tom’s imagination that perfectly align with Scripture for a deeper mind renewal. Tom’s experiences of God’s truth and love go deeper in his soul than he thought possible this side of heaven. His healing journey going so deeply into his soul and calling for his cooperation takes considerable time. God takes Tom out of ministry and moves the Dages family to the small mountain town of Buena Vista Colorado where Tom’s healing deepens, especially learning to live out of his Christ-centered identity. Tom accumulates true emotional wealth and a stronger inner man as God reshapes Tom’s Pastoral calling as a wounded healer to help people find Jesus and deeper soul healing.Pastor Tom’s story is a deeply personal journey that is Gospel-focused, Holy Spirit-dependent, Biblically faithful, psychologically insightful and medically aware.
