Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Number 5 of a limited edition of 210 copies, 64mo, 24 x 18mm, pp. 36; with accompanying leaflet, book thread through a cut designed to become a bookmark; original cream novalite leather, lettered in gilt on spine and upper cover, contained within the original polythene envelope; fine. A charming limited edition miniature book from the noted Scottish Gleniffer Press, the private press of Ian and Helen Macdonald, of Paisley and Wigtown, founded in 1967. By the early 1970s, the press had gained international renown for making miniature books and remained active in this field until 2007. The Macdonalds' were among the founding members of the Miniature Book Society, which still remains active to this day. 'TheLoaded Dog' is a short story by the Australian writerHenry Lawson (1867-1922), concerning three gold miners and their dog, who inadvertently picks up an explosive cartridge that the trio had intended to use to catch fish. The dog of course, happily chases after each of the men as they try to flee. All's well that ends well for the humans at least - though sadly not for a rival dog. See their pdf bibliography online.…
