Per sei mesi, durante la world Expo 2010 di Shanghai, i 30.000 visitatori giornalieri del padiglione italiano si sono trovati ad attraversare uno spazio magicamente disegnato da una sinfonia di immagini e di suoni: con un inedito esperimento di "cinema architettonico" creato da Peter Greenaway, il pubblico cinese è stato catapultato in una giostra visiva e sonora che offriva un viaggio nelle mille piazze delle mille città italiane, dalle bimillenarie architetture di Pompei fino alla Roma del dopoguerra.
