King Maximo sends his twelve best knights out on a quest to discover the greatest of all the numbers. They return after one year to a great feast at which each knight in turn recounts his adventure detailing why his is, in fact, the greatest number. After each has spoken, Joccomo the Jester summarizes the qualities of that particular number. Then the knight designs a coat of arms, or shield, which symbolizes this. At the end all twelve coats of arms hang on the wall.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Howard Schrager grew up in New Jersey and later attended UW, Madison and then UCLA grad school. As a Waldorf educator for 40 years, he has been working to cultivate a type of learning based in imagination, creativity, and physical activity. Recognizing how this approach not only teaches, but enlivens children, bringing out the best in them, he has sought to create stories & poems which do just this. To further this mission, he founded LemonTree Press in 1999.
