Hospital chaplains function in an environment that consists of a wide range of circumstances. The spectrum of global faith traditions are represented in patient populations as well as the increasing numbers of unchurched patients. Most hospital chaplains and those who train them will consistently acknowledge that interpersonal communication skills are essential for the hospital chaplain. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Reverend, Dr., Colonel Jim Schnell earned a Master of Divinity degree at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio and a Ph.D. at Ohio University. He completed his Clinical Pastoral Education at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He is a four-time Fulbright Scholar with assignment to Cambodia, Myanmar, Kosovo and West Africa.
