Content: In his preface to the book, Wicks describes the novel as a microcosmic view of the social life of to-day. It is founded neither upon an affair of blood, nor upon a breach of the seventh commandment, nor upon an ingeniously contrived puzzle, nor upon supernatural conditions, involving fanciful conversation with the Dead, but upon the commonplace social conditions of the period.Condition: Signed copy. The author has dedicated it to its owner by saying it is from and then circling his name and dating it. See image. Book also bears an inscription stating it had been owned by the great-great-great nephew of the author. Text block edges are darkened and there is some internal fox.
