Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

The format is approximately 8.25" x 5.5". xv, 315, [5] pages. Illustrations. Maps. Appendix. Index. Name of previous owner on half-title page. Indians in American History contains essays by thirteen authors who provide a perspective on the breadth and complexity of American Indian history. A leading figure in the development of American Indian studies, Hoxie contributed to this field as teacher, scholar, and administrator, for eleven years directing the Newberry Library's D'Arcy McNickle Center for American Indian History. He was a founding trustee of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian. So, while the white people had much to teach us, we had much to teach them, and what a school could have been established upon that idea!" - Luther Standing Bear, Land of the Spotted Eagle (1933). Includes contributions from Alvin Josephy and Richard West.…
