How's My Painting.

The art collector we deserve? This is the question posed by New York artist, critic and exhibition organiser Kenny Schachter in his very personal text on his friendship with Harald Falckenberg. Following the anniversary exhibition "25 Years Falckenberg Collection" in 2019, which was dedicated to installations as the core medium of the Falckenberg Collection, the focus will shift to painting in 2025. In the exhibition "How's My Painting?", the medium will be presented comprehensively for the first time with over 100 works from the Falckenberg Collection. Starting with Werner Büttner, Albert Oehlen and Martin Kippenberger, who stirred up the established art scene of the 1980s with their punk-inspired attitude and, together with their American colleagues of the same age, Raymond Pettibon and Mike Kelley, represented the concept of counter culture that characterised the Falckenberg Collection, the exhibition spans a wide range of variations of the medium, from panel painting to its installative, deconstructive and conceptual forms. A large number of the works have not been shown in the collection for many years.
