Inspired by a true story, The House That Sat Down Trilogy is a tale of triumph over tragedy. It is an astonishing account of sudden, first-world homelessness in the heart of the New Forest, and the unexpected consequences. Written entirely from a mother’s point of view, following the collapse of her family's home, it is an uplifting and positive read in spite of the subject matter, with a thread of wry humour throughout. Follow this ordinary woman on an extraordinary journey of survival and self discovery as she reels from disaster before picking herself up and coming back stronger and wiser than before.Packed with humorous observations about what it is like to live in a tent in your garden with your husband and four children after a significant part of your house falls down out of the blue one day, this story takes you from the depths of despair right through to the satisfying heights of success against the odds, with lots of tea and cakes on the way.Follow this crazy family as they cope with disaster in their own truly unique and rather mad way, and celebrate each small triumph along the way with them.Praise for The House That Sat Down trilogy: "A wonderful debut novel with feel good factor mixed into the adversity. An uplifting story that makes you grateful for the everyday things that we all take for granted. How would any of us cope with the demise of our home and being forced to take refuge in a tent in the garden? I loved the 1st person narrative and the descriptions of the characters which allowed you to get to know them through their character traits... A great read and I eagerly await the next chapter in life of a mother and her brood. A book that in some respects every mother can relate to (even if only the empty biscuit tin!)" R Kennedy"I loved this book from beginning to end. I bought this to take away on holiday and it was the perfect read with chapters that were not too long so it was easy to dip in and out of. I can really relate to the heroine's description of family life and her role as a mum in the most difficult of circumstances. It was refreshing to read something based on true events that is unlike anything else I have read before. A brilliant debut novel and I am missing all the characters already and cannot wait for the next instalment." Amazon Customer"Accidental Damage is an emotional, joyful and funny read. Inspired by a true story, its about one women's battle to succeed against what appears to be insurmountable odds. To not only rebuild her home, keep her family together, but also heal herself. We all face daily challenges to get through the day, but few of us have to do so from a tent in our garden. Ordinary daily tasks take on a new level of challenging for our heroine, forced to sacrifice an integral part of herself just to survive the emotional stress she is under. Alice May gives us a tale of the ordinary life of one family, breaks it apart and then challenges us to see if it can be healed. She looks at how the individual draws strength from deep within themselves and from those around them. It is a deeply rewarding read and one I will remember." S Corcoran This book is an omnibus edition and comprises all three books in The House That Sat Down Trilogy by Alice May; Book 1 Accidental Damage, tales from the house that sat down; Book 2, Restoration, more tales from the house that sat down; and Book 3 Redemption, moving on from the house that sat down.
