Homelands Revisited is a collection of memories from ex-students of Homelands Grammar School for Girls, over the first 20 years of its existence.
"Last night I dreamt of Homelands....
Some of us occasionally dream about Homelands and some of us have sharp memories of our schooldays – or think we do. When seven “old girls”, saddened by the closure of the school, took the decision to commit our memories to paper, independently and without collaboration, several of us remembered the same incidents, but from rather different perspectives. We have enjoyed producing this booklet and hope, at the very least, it will ensure our wonderful school is not totally forgotten.
Marjorie Calow"
"Homelands School - a name that brings back so many memories for those who attended, and also resonates with those who did not but who remember the fine grammar school for girls. Homelands Revisited is not only a wonderful collection of memories, mostly from those who went there during its earliest years, but also superbly researched work that looks at various aspects of the school. It is a book that will both delight and inform".
Anton Rippon, author of A Derby Boy.
