Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Hardcover. Full leather with raised cords. Bumped and rubbed and edgeworn from 250 years. Hinges cracked, but all three cords secure on front board, only one cord holding on back board. Two large ownership names at front: Wm Tomson from the 1830s and Jo Tompson in 1799. Jo Tompson's name neatly signed again on the next blank page, dated 1798. The History of Joseph is 68 pages. It is followed, with its own title page dated 1762 by The Force of Religion; or Vanquish'd Love, printed by J. Thompson. Written by Edward Young in 1714. 23 pages. It is followed, also with its own title page, by The Campaign, to which is added A Letter from Italy by Joseph Addison. Printed London by J. Bucks in 1756. 24 pages. Handwritten upside down on the blank pages at the rear, the name Mary Thompson, and William Tomson, aged 11 years, January 25, 1835. with a rhyme about returning the book to him. Pages a bit toned from age, but text block tight and secure. Rowe's poem was first published in 1736. Please email with questions or to request photos.
