The poems in this book could be characterized simply as vignettes of life, but I hope that the reader sees more in these poems, recognizes the myriad ways that love, the creative spirit that permeates our world and the universe beyond, and our own eagerness for and commitment to relationships that nourish and sustain us and frame our lives, weave together this world of wonder and mystery with which we have been gifted.

In the opening of this new collection, Ken asks, “Who bestows the title Poet?” and he rightly concludes, “Those who read the thing created. Those who weigh it with their lives.” Therefore, I, as one voice among a multitude of voices, proclaim Ken Nye “Poet,” and after readers have finished with this new effort by Mr. Nye that multitude will grow exponentially, for it is as magnificent an achievement as was his first book.
