Inhaltsangabe: In "the first Vietnam book written from the point of view of an army private" (Rochester Times Union), Ketwig urges the reader to understand how greatly the soldiers longed to return to The World, how the "conflict" was in fact a war that claimed over 57,000 lives, and how he feels today about the turmoil. HC: Macmillan. (Military History)

Über den Autor: John Ketwig was sent to Vietnam in September 1967, and completed his tour a year later. In 1982, he began to examine the Vietnam tragedy and his role in it. He started to write about his experiences in a letter to his wife and children, in hopes that someday they might understand and know the truth of what he had experienced. His account was originally published in 1985 to tremendous acclaim. John currently lives in New Jersey with his wife, Carolynn.
