The author was the nephew, apparently the favourite such, of Lytton Strachey (the only son of his brother, Ralph) - this is his second novel, scarce in the dustjacket (a design by his wife Frances Esmé, née Rudd), an 'ironic comedy of to-day' (blurb) set in London (indeed, Bloomsbury) and Brighton.
