Breakdown Press is thrilled to be publishing Half Gold / Half Dung, a new work by Margot Ferrick. Melding the worlds of video games, courtly romance and classic illustration with a striking eye for the nuance of how bodies interact, this is an outstanding collection of new drawings and comics, ably demonstrating the work of a rising star of the medium. Inside the pages of the book the reader will meet knights and wizards, thieves and kings, together and apart, and standing alone. A rumination on what beauty can both hide and convey, and the beatific nature of suffering. By using the character types and classes found in video games in the time away from their adventures, in the personal, in the poetic, Ferrick allows the reader to see a side of characters that they themselves have played borne out in her haunting, personal line. A striking new work by one of the rising new stars of comics, this release is supported by the simultaneous release of Star of Swan, also from Breakdown Press.
