Have you ever wondered how to bring your mum, dad, or loved one home from a care facility? I did, and this book shares the story of how I made it happen. It reveals the reasons that drove me, the challenges I faced, and why I refused to give up. Through these pages, you'll follow a deeply personal journey that shines a light on what the system often overlooks: the unshakable, irreplaceable love that binds families together. This is the kind of love, stronger than iron, that no bureaucracy can sever. It's a reminder that the bond forged through parental love is something no institution can truly understand. The story is serious in its message, yet peppered with moments of humour, offering insight into how the weight of institutional management can lead you astray, sending you in circles with endless hoops to jump through. But with a little spirit, unwavering faith, and determination, I found my way through every barrier placed in front of me. This is a testament to love, persistence, and the power of believing there's always a way home.
Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Philip was born on 1st September, a date that should have made him the oldest in his class but instead left him the youngest-and often in trouble. Leaving school at 14 with a handful of CSEs, he was steered firmly away from his dream of art school by his father and into the construction trade. An apprenticeship in painting and decorating proved its own kind of education, from grand stately homes to cramped flats, alongside weekly training at college. He earned his City & Guilds qualification and, with a British passport in hand, set off to explore the wider world.By 19, Philip had travelled through Ireland, across Europe, and as far as Istanbul, an adventure that sparked a lifelong love of travel. He swears he once crossed paths with Billy Hayes of Midnight Express fame-a claim Hayes himself wryly denied years later.Though his journeys have taken him far, Philip has always valued the warmth of home. Today, he continues that connection by renting out his late parents' house to fellow travellers, keeping alive the spirit of welcome and rest he once found there.

Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. The drive would take fifteen hours, a slow meander up virtually the entire length of Britain. Not having the first idea what was required for my six-month sojourn as a crofter on the west coast of Scotland, I had opted to take along pretty much everything I owned.A diary of adventure in picturesque Sand Bay, Monty Halls' Great Escape takes readers on an extraordinary journey, from auspicious beginnings as Monty renovates his cottage and meets a rich cast of local characters, through dark days when he yearns for the trappings of urban existence. Armed with little more than optimism and a basic knowledge of DIY - and with his gigantic (possibly insane) dog, Reuben, as his companion - Monty raises sheep, pigs and chickens, grows his own vegetables, and learns all about simple living on the wild west coast. Published to coincide with a major BBC series, Monty Halls' Great Escape is a book for anyone who has dreamed of living a more meaningful life. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Artikel-Nr. GOR001247142

Paperback. Zustand: Good. In his new Channel 4 series TV chef Gordon Ramsay embarks on a culinary journey around India, discovering the breadth and depth of cooking of the country. His new cookbook is packed with the best recipes from his travels, showing you how to cook authentic dishes that are bursting with flavour. Three-star chef Gordon Ramsay's favourite food is one that he shares with a lot of Britain - curry. But, until now, he's never been to India to see how the real thing is cooked. Accompanied by a Channel 4 film crew, Gordon takes the culinary trip of a lifetime to discover real Indian cuisine and share this collection of over 100 of his favourite Indian dishes. As you'd expect from a Michelin-starred chef, Gordon brings his eye for perfection and ability to judge flavours perfectly to his exploration of Indian food and shows us how to cook authentic, mouth-watering dishes from all over this huge and varied country. He visits Kerala deep in the South of India to bring us spicy, coconut-based curries and travels to colourful Rajasthan to learn about the creamy, flavourful dishes of the North. Along the way Gordon experiences the hugely different flavours and spices from the different regions and absorbs local cooking styles and traditions. Throughout his culinary journey, Gordon selects the best of the vast array of Indian spices, now readily available in British supermarkets. He shows us how to use these authentically to produce a beautifully flavoured Indian dish. Gordon Ramsay's Great Escape includes over 100 recipes in the following sections: Everyday, Entertaining, Quick Lunches and Healthy Dishes. Once Gordon shows you how easy it is to put together authentic Indian dishes, you'll never look back. The book has been read but remains in clean condition. Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. The famous story of mass escape from a WWII German PoW camp that inspired the classic film. One of the most famous true stories from the last war, The GREAT ESCAPE tells how more than six hundred men in a German prisoner-of-war camp worked together to achieve an extraordinary break-out. Every night for a year they dug tunnels, and those who weren't digging forged passports, drew maps, faked weapons and tailored German uniforms and civilian clothes to wear once they had escaped. All of this was conducted under the very noses of their prison guards. When the right night came, the actual escape itself was timed to the split second - but of course, not everything went according to plan. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Artikel-Nr. GOR000459184
