Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Blue linen with gilt spine titles and past-on illustration of a cannon on the front. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear. The dust with the price has modest handling and is lightly toned and in a clear Mylar sleeve. 8vo; 9 inches tall; 245 pages with an index; illustrated and numerous fold-out color maps. The follow-up volume to the author's 1934 "Ulysses S. Grant: The Great Soldier of America", this work focuses on the Civil War battles in which Grant did not directly take part, from the outbreak of the rebellion through Rosecrans campaigns and minor operations. Background Information: Robert Rutherford "Colonel" McCormick was an American lawyer, businessman and anti-war activist. A member of the McCormick family of Chicago, McCormick became a lawyer, Republican Chicago alderman, distinguished U.S. Army officer in World War I, and eventually owner and publisher of the Chicago Tribune newspaper.
