Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Four pages, 12mo, bifolium, some staining not obscuring text, mainly good condition. Text: " I am in a dilemma. Shall I praise myself! Now, for the picture. Mr Upham (and he is a good judge) calls it as good a reproduction as he ever saw, and I am glad to say 'tis not a caricature as has been my lot to possess. Let me thank your good husband and yourself - and be on the lookout for an advance copy of 'The Race of the Golden Rod'. | I ordered forty of the Journal, but dear me, they are lost in a sea of memories, so Mr Upham will tomorrow order more, many more- How glad I was that I saw you as I did on Friday last. [see Image for concluding page]". Notes: A. See Wikipedia entry which also references Howe, Julia Ward, ed. (1904). "Grace Le Baron Upham". Representative women of New England; B. Mrs Brownell not identified but perhaps Elizabeth Brownell who had periodical connections.…
