Goodness in Action trains athletes and coaches on 16 critical lessons on character, including servanthood, tolerance, and many more, as part of the Virtues to Victory Series of Sports Bible Studies. Each book in the series focuses on the fruit of the Spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

Christian coaches and athletes can experience significant spiritual growth and transformation, referred to as “fruit” in the Bible. This comparison to fruit-bearing is fitting as these changes reflect the work of God’s Spirit within us, producing new behaviors and attitudes. The ultimate goal of this transformation is to bring glory to our Heavenly Father.

Goodness is revealed in our character and conduct. Coaches and athletes who model goodness understand that only God is truly good. Their sole purpose is to courageously pursue fairness and justice, as they obey and honor God above everything else. Admired coaches and athletes are known for their honesty, integrity, and loyalty. Goodness yields long-lasting friendships and a lasting legacy, outlasting their athletic accomplishments.
