Carl is back in Good Dog Carl's Valentine, the newest picture book in the beloved series about Carl, the babysitting Rottweiler.

In Good Dog Carl's Valentine, Carl and family are decorating and getting ready for the Valentine's Day holiday. After making a valentine for her mother, Madeline sits down for a well-earned snack. Unbeknownst to the family, Carl gets into the homemade valentine supplies and a lot of mischief.

As usual, the results of Carl's secret activities are sweet, funny and this time around, especially loving. Alexandra Day’s Good Dog Carl series is rich with paintings that will engage and delight children and this book is no exception, making it a perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the family!

Good Dog Carl's Valentine is a nearly-wordless book, making it the perfect bedtime story for young children. It is a great way to introduce kids to this love-filled holiday and watching Carl’s valentine adventure is sure to put a smile on the faces of children and parents alike.

Sandra Woodward Darling, the creator of the popular "Good Dog Carl" series, is better known by her nom de plume: Alexandra Day. She is loved the world over for her sumptuously illustrated books, the first of which was "Good Dog Carl", published in 1985. Thirty plus years later, 24 "Carl" books have been published, and over 6 million of her books are in print. When not painting or gardening, Darling visits libraries and schools with her dogs to promote literacy and animal therapy. Darling lives in Seattle with her husband and their Rottweilers.
