You Are A Miracle!

Life is all about relationships and how we impact one another. The reality is you are in relationship with the world around you and consistently communicate with your husband/wife, boy/girlfriend, children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers, etc. Yet the most important relationship is the one with self. Have you considered ...

* You came from the infinite soup of divine love? "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart ..." (Jeremiah 1:5) and "Before I was born the Lord called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name." (Isaiah 49:1).

* "... you are fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalm 139:14) from the DNA which holds the entire code for your internal workings to your external appearance.

* There is a purpose and plan for your life.

* You are made in the image of God. "Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness ..." (Genesis 1:26)

How would you act knowing you are a miracle made whole in the flesh? Would you remember your divine connection and be a messenger of love in your world? What would your world be like when you realize just how special you are? Let me remind you of the miracle that is YOU.

No one who has come before you or who will come after you will ever be like you!!! Everyone is unique with a unique set of finger prints and therefore unique opportunities to "be".

What are the odds?

* The odds of bowling a 300 game: 1 in 11,500

* The odds of being hit by lightning: 1 in 576,000

* The odds of being U.S. President: 1 in 10 million * The odds of YOU being born in this particular time, place and circumstance ... 1 in 400 trillion!!!

When we hear the word one trillion we have very little perspective on the actually enormity of the number. Here are some examples to help you wrap your head around the number "one trillion".

• If you started spending a million dollars every single day since Jesus was born, you still would not have spent one trillion dollars.

• One million seconds is about 11.5 days, one billion seconds is about 32 years while a trillion seconds is equal to 32,000 years.

• A bundle of $100 bills equivalent to $10,000 can easily fit in your pocket. 1 million dollars will probably fit inside a standard shopping bag while a billion dollars would occupy a small room of your house.

• With this background in mind, 1 trillion (1,000,000,000,000) is 1000 times bigger than 1 billion and would therefore take up an entire football field. Amazing that your existence in this particular time, place and circumstance is equivalent to 1 in 400 Trillion!!!

You are a miracle!! You are a miracle who has known God. Maybe you struck a deal to come into form? God knows you are special and He has a purpose and a plan for your life!

"For you created my inner most being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." (Psalm 139: 13-16)

If we're made in the image of God and come from the infinite soup of love; then what the heck happens in between? A lot of change! Sometimes we choose the change. i.e. going to college, moving to another state, a job promotion, getting married, having babies ... finding out you're having twins, going to a new church, joining a networking group or club. These are considered positive changes. Even though the change is positive and chosen the body and mind still go through a time of stress and uncertainty.

Some change seems to be thrust upon you and it can feel as though you've been hit upside the head. A loved one experiences an accident, sudden illness or passes away leaving you broken hearted and alone. There is no shortage of natural disasters to turn our world upside down.

Change comes in all shapes and forms yet how you perceive change is critical to your mental and physical well-being. The following Chinese parable illustrates this beautifully!

An old farmer had a horse for tilling his fields. One day the horse escaped into the hills. When all the farmer's neighbors sympathized with the old man over his bad luck, the farmer replied, "Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?"

A week later the horse returned with a herd of wild horses from the hills and this time the neighbors congratulated the farmer on his good luck. His reply was the same, "Good luck? Bad luck? Who knows?"

Then, when the farmer's son attempted to tame one of the wild horses, he fell off its back and broke his leg. Everyone thought this to be very bad luck. Not the farmer, whose only reaction was, "Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?"

Some weeks later the army marched into the village and gathered every able-bodied youth they found there to join the military. When they saw the farmer's son with his broken leg they let him off ... Good luck? Bad luck? Who knows?

Good Luck? Bad luck? Who knows? When I get blasted into a new reality whether it is of my own choosing or not ... I have named this state Tossed Salad. Tossed Salad occurs when your life and schedule have been scrambled in an instant leaving you in a state of shock and disbelief. Tossed Salad requires a rapid restructuring of YOUR life and YOUR list of things to do.

Let's Get Real: You've heard it over and over. The only constant is change. Change is good! When you're through changing, you're through. The key is seeing change as an opportunity for growth. Your survival depends on the ability to adjust and move through rapid change.

You nod your head thinking ... yep that's right BUT "I don't like change!" It's uncomfortable! This wasn't my plan! Tossed Salad again!? Why do I keep getting knocked off the pony? These are MY goals ... this is the process I've invested time, energy and money to achieve. What is going...
