In the blink of an eye an impression is made. Is it positive or negative? Glorifying or detracting? In The Father’s Reflection, Max Lucado tells a story in this beautiful parable of how a daughter has the power to reflect the character of her father through her interaction with others. When she speaks, they assume she speaks for him. They’ve not seen him. They’ve not met him. But they know his child, so they know his heart. In the setting of a Manhattan skyscraper, we learn the simplicity of how to make an impact for God, either good or bad. As Christians “we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us” (2 Corinthians 5:20) and when the work “day” is finished what will we hear? Lucado inspires us all to have “no higher goal than to see someone think more highly of our Father, our King” when they see us.
