Inhaltsangabe:

After becoming famous for winning a sweepstakes, eleven-year-old Mitch serves as a model for a best-selling doll and encounters some of the shortcomings of being a celebrity

From School Library Journal:

Grade 3-6 This sequel to Rich Mitch (Morrow, 1983), which stands quite comfortably on its own, will undoubtedly find an appreciative audience. Most of the money that 11-year-old Mitch had won in the Dazzle-Rama Sweepstakes has been depleted, a situation that sits very well with Mitch, who has no stirring lust for wealth or fame. His materialistic family, however, has become enamored of the cushy life. With Mitch's self-conscious and grudging agreement, they contract to create a highly "merchandisable" Rich Mitch doll. The doll's instantaneous success sets off a wild chain of events that includes crazed mob scenes and a harrowing kidnapping. Though the story's ending is somewhat anticlimactic, this does not mar Sharmat's insightful commentary on our highly commercialized and fickle society. All of the characters are well drawn and cleverly portrayed. Mitch is down-to-earth, typically 11 and utterly charming. Mr. Figgle, Mitch's greatest competitor and his kidnapper, is delightfully fiendish. This book, with its large print, open format and numerous black-and-white drawings, guarantees romping good fun for reluctant readers as well as children who are ready for their first chapter books.
