Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Kirk W. Elifson is Professor of Sociology at Georgia State University. He earned his Ph.D in Sociology from Vanderbilt University. He has received research grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Justice, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Professor Elifson’s research interests include topics such as religion, deviance, and medical sociology. He is the author of numerous publication in academic journals such as the Journal of Health and Adolescence, Criminology, Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Journal of Sex Research, American Journal of Public Health, Social Science and Medicine, the New England Journal of Medicine, and the Journal of Drug Issues.
