The Jones amp Bartlett Learning Public Safety Group, in partnership with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), are pleased to present the first edition of Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills for Support Personnel. Chapter 5: Support Person (NFPA ) in NFPA is a new chapter within the standard. A support person is defined as a fire department member who is not trained to the Firefighter I level, but assists by performing duties in environments that are not hazardous.
