Inhaltsangabe: "Massimiliano Fuksas is a personality whose means of expression is architecture. He is entitled to this merit. The architecture he has produced is a self-portrait in which his character traits are evident; impetuosity, which in some cases becomes vehemence, the need to astonish and amaze, the desire to work in depth. These elements together are an explosive mixture to which Anna Maria Sacconi probably adds the necessary catalyst. His work continuously expresses an avant-guard genius. This is a provocation. It overturns the hierarchy of the values of life and puts now painting, now music, now architecture on the throne”. -- From the introduction by Paolo Portoghesi

Buchbeschreibung Roma, 1988. Originalbroschur. Buchzustand: Sehr gut. 140 S. Gebraucht, aber gut erhalten. Mit zahlr. auch farb. Abb. Text in engl. und ital. -- There is a Roman trend where Fuksas might fit, a critical and autonomous trend which does not flatten out into the more usual forms. The Paliano gymnasium, with its earthquake-shocked facade, is I think the work that is most representative of Fuksas. It is a courageous gesture, absolutely unforeseeable. It could be linked to Stirling's idea, but even more so to the leaning house of Bomarzo which we discovered together when Massimiliano was an assistant in the Faculty. This "in vitro" experiment could easily have fallen into the architectonic boutade but the manner in which it was used in this work demonstrates the capacity to transform an abstract idea which is purely ironical into an architectural fact.
