""A Free Gift to the Clergy: Or The Hireling Priests of What Denomination Soever, Challenged to a Disputation on This Question"" is a book written by Thomas Woolston in 1722. In this book, Woolston challenges the clergy of any denomination to a debate on the topic of whether or not they are truly serving God or merely working for their own financial gain. He argues that many priests are ""hirelings"" who are more concerned with their own wealth and power than with the spiritual well-being of their congregations. Woolston's book was controversial at the time of its publication, and he was eventually imprisoned for his views. Despite this, ""A Free Gift to the Clergy"" remains an important work in the history of religious dissent and the struggle for intellectual freedom.""Also Includes A Second, Third, And Fourth Free Gift To The Clergy, Or The Hireling Priests Of What Domination Soever Again Challenged To A Disputation On This Question.
