Pot-et-fleur, the art of combining cut flowers, foliage and houseplants to create indoor displays, goes back to Victorian times when tiered centre-pieces, filled with potted maidenhair ferns, ivy garlands, cut flowers and even fresh fruit graced dining tables, sideboards and entrance halls. As well as freshly cut flowers, silk or dried flowers and foliage can be incorporated in displays. Pot-et-fleur arrangements are practical and economic - a single pot-plant arrangement can be used again and again for years. Presenting a range of ideas for seasonal indoor and outdoor decorations, this book includes photographs and step-by-step instructions for alternative ingredients and colour schemes. It also advises how to look after the houseplants shown, and where best to display them.
