Figs & Falling is a collection of poems and musings, written and illustrated by Sierra Aldulaimi. Written over the span of 6 years and dated like a journal, Aldulaimi takes us with her into the throes of early adulthood. Having lost her father, many of the poems are the author’s active processing of death and grief. But because loss happens while life keeps turning, there are also poems of self-discovery, romance, friendship, and more.

Peppered with simple doodles by the author, this book is about showing up willing to be seen. Imperfect and underdeveloped, but present.

If you are someone whose heart pangs with nostalgia, if you love to look up your personality type or astrology sign just to see a bit of yourself reflected back, if you feel permanently changed by loss, there is a poem in this book for you.
