After learning that she was not chosen for the U.S. Olympic ski team on the same day her husband announced he would be leaving her for another woman, Amber Flynn decides she needs a fresh start. Leaving behind her beloved Sierra Nevada Mountains and Lake Tahoe, Amber moves to a small coastal California town and decides to invest in a bookstore franchise.
As Amber tries to search for her best self and recover from the recent traumas, she discovers a passion for the ocean and her childhood love of sailing. The sailor’s nook in the store becomes her favorite place, but also inspires visions of a haunting ghost ship on the distant horizon.
During this period of readjustment, Amber makes a new friend, Victoria, a woman with an adventurous and dangerous past. A stunning series of events occurs after Amber’s father suddenly goes missing and she must try to work her way through a swirling maze of international intrigue while at the same time coming to grips with her past and moving on with her new life.
