How Willy survived the first six years of her life in the woods is a mystery. Some say she was raised by a colony of bees, surviving on honey, berries and acorns. Others presume she was raised by a deadbeat mom who abandoned her child and still others think she is a runaway who quickly learned to fend for herself. No one knows for certain. Reluctantly extricated from an enchanting Wisconsin forest by hiking honeymooners Maya and Abe, Willy is subsequently placed in numerous foster homes. She longs to be with mothers, to surround herself by loving women who need her just as much as she needs them. At first, the freckled girl with ruby hair charms potential foster parents with her imaginative stories. They all fall under her spell but are blind to the inevitable calamity coming. Willy's premonition-filled dreams forecast her future and provide her with direction, as she struggles to understand the purpose of insight. After a broken string of foster homes, Willy is adopted by Bernadette and Paul Williams. Ominous dreams follow, forcing the little witch to keep her current mother at arm's length. As her extraordinary abilities grow, she struggles to control and conceal them. Initially intriguing classmates with her peculiar behavior, Willy quickly becomes a target. They claim she is a witch that can command the elements; bend the wind to her whim, pull bolts of lightning from the sky, and transmute into a bee. They are confused and awe-stricken by her manipulation of the weather and her divine ability to resurrect lifeless animals. Fear replaces curiosity and Willy is accused of witchcraft, finding herself at the center of a modern day witch hunt.…

The case that inspired The Frozen Ground starring Nicholas Cage and John Cusack . . . "As 'true' stories go, the writers and directors did an excellent job…. However, you don’t see the back story…. On that note, I strongly suggest reading Fair Game by Bernard DuClos whose research for his book was astonishingly rich and thorough. (IMDb dixie dragon, imdb.com/user/ur35449188/)
CAVEAT! *** Avoid recently published thin regurgitations (maybe A.I. generated?) of the Bad Bob Hansen case, or “half-baked” research presented in clumsy prose in some earlier editions. Don’t settle for anything less than "The Definitive Account of the Robert Hansen Case" that FAIR GAME delivers! (St. Martins Press 1st Edition was published February 1993) ***
and
NOTE: *** And don't be a suckered by those 100s of so-called good "reviews" stars . Most are created by the "publishers" that put their e-book online price down to the lowest no royalty level for a day or two, and then with a "verified purchase" deliver a b.s. "customer review". These publishers have little respect for Hansen's victims or their families, other principals in the case, the real story, or you the reader. To them, it's all about making a fast buck! (Scroll down to read the genuine 1993 Publishers Weekly of FAIR GAME.)
***This FAIR GAME edition includes an "Afterword"***
Truth be told, Robert Hansen never butchered anyone. He did own a popular Anchorage bakery where he rolled doughnuts and decorated cakes. But yes, “Bad Bob Hansen” did go on a rampage assaulting and murdering dozens of women from 1971 to 1983. With an Anchorage police officer risking his career and FBI profiling assistance, Alaska State Troopers finally brought Hansen to justice.
First published by St. Martin’s Press and a Doubleday True Crime Book Club Selection in 1993, FAIR GAME details Robert Hansen’s 12-year tableau of violence that ended with his arrest and chilling confession. Importantly, FAIR GAME exposes the tortious judiciary bungles that enabled Robert Hansen’s aberrant hunt, and how the Anchorage District Attorney’s Office used a brief sentencing hearing to avoid putting Hansen on public trial, which would have revealed its blatant judicial neglects!
And FAIR GAME folds in compelling stories of Hansen’s victims, their families and survivors, many of whom were denied justice by the Anchorage DA’s egregious cover-up!
To repeat ...***Avoid thin regurgitations (maybe A.I. generated?) of the Bad Bob Hansen case, or “half-baked” research presented in clumsy prose! Don’t settle for anything less than "The Definitive Account of the Robert Hansen Case" that FAIR GAME delivers!***
