You Failed Me offers readers a candid look inside the life of a child who was failed by the people who should have protected him from the evil that lurked in the shadows of his life. This book provides readers with a raw look at poverty, abuse, and neglect while also bringing to light the failures in the social systems that are intended to protect the vulnerable in our society. John's story challenges the argument of nature vs. nurture in its entirety. Despite being failed by many, John also shares the impact others had in helping him navigate his childhood and how it helped him become what he is today. This is a must-read for anyone who has the opportunity to impact a child's life as a concerned family member, educator, social worker, or first responder.
