ou have been fighting for a freedom you already possess. You have been picking up chains that have been released. This is the book that hands you a map.

Eyes on the Horizon is a tactical formation manual for the man who is tired of carrying a low-grade exhaustion he cannot name — the man who is doing all the “right” religious things while the war for his interior life is being fought on a battlefield he cannot see. Drawing on the patristic Fathers (Athanasius, Chrysostom, Evagrius, Gregory of Nyssa), Second Temple Jewish literature, and the Ancient Near Eastern world of the Old Testament, John Brantley maps the specific terrain of the modern man’s spiritual battlefield — and gives him the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to fight from victory, not for it.

This is not a devotional. It is a 13-chapter tactical manual built around the Triple-Thread of Spirit, Soul, and Body. Each chapter follows a deliberate formation arc: Seeing (the diagnostic), Understanding (the theological framework), Locating (where the man actually is), Anchoring (the ancient witnesses), Moving (the SOP), and finally a Theological Meditation and a weekly Jesus Prayer regimen.

Inside you will find: a complete six-week group curriculum (Appendix B), an Ecclesial Means of Grace appendix with two short non-denominational liturgies (Appendix F), a Mental Health Referral Protocol for group leaders (Appendix G), the Scripture Test for discerning every voice that claims to be from God (Appendix H), and the Three-Stage Worksheet for mapping the interior battle (Appendix I).

For the man who senses the war is real, the Cross is sufficient, and the Horizon has not moved. Lift your chin. Take the post.
