The book of Exodus is the second book in the Bible. The book of Genesis is the first book.In Genesis we read about Joseph, one of the 12 sons of Jacob. Joseph’s brothers sold him as a slave, to work in the country called Egypt. Later, there was afamine and all of Jacob’s family came to live in Egypt. Joseph forgave his brothers for what they had done to him.God gave Jacob another name, Israel.Exodus continues the story of Jacob’s family in Egypt. It tells us these things:How God brought the Israelites out of Egypt. How God led them through the desert. How God gave his Laws to them. How the Israelites built the tabernacle and how they worshipped God in it.
