Holly, the main character of the book, makes a sudden and radical decision to change her life. She walks away from her job, leaves her apartment behind, and abandons almost all of her belongings, choosing instead to live on the streets with only a few clothes.

From the beginning to the end of the story, it remains uncertain whether Holly is escaping something, testing herself, or searching for a deeper meaning. Her thoughts and true intentions stay mysterious, leaving readers questioning what is really happening inside her mind.

Only in the second book does the reader begin to understand the deeper reasons behind her extraordinary transformation and the experiences that led her to choose such an unusual way of life.
